Kimber: A future Mom!

Tonight I told Kimber that I miss having her be a baby so I could rock her and hold her. She said, "I know! I am going to have 12 boys and 12 girls but that will be too many for me to take care of so I will come to your house and give some of them to you! I'll just give them to you!!"
Lucky me!!!

The Obsession....

We were at the grocery store today and Kimber thought we should buy some food for Adam and Britnee. Bruce said, "What is your obsession with Adam and Britnee?" Kimber replied, "Because they are the best parents ever, even gooder than mom and dad!" I said, "I don't think so!" To which she replied, "Oh, yea!"

Then, a few minutes later, Bruce saw some buffalo chicken wings and said, "Oh, yum, buffalo chicken wings!" Kimber turned to him and said, "What's your obsession with buffalo chicken wings?"

I wonder if either of them knows what "obsession" means!

What to do with terrorists?

This morning on the news we saw that there had been a terrorist attack in Israel and my kids asked why someone would do that. I told them that some evil men make bad choices like that sometimes. Kimber piped right up and said, "They should just eat some cotton candy and then they would feel better!" Why hasn't anyone else thought of that? They must not have cotton candy in Israel.

Kimber's 5!

Kimber turned "5" and is on top of the world! She did a little dancing, ok, a lot of dancing! We managed to hold a family celebration even though she "accidentally" flooded the bathroom and hallway the day before. Her friend party had to be put on hold until the flood mess could be dealt with. But this is the best day of the year for her, so she was feeling great anyway!
My friend made Kimber's cake for her! She made it exactly how Kimber asked her to. The shape of a heart, lots of roses, and a rainbow! How pretty!
Kimber had a special hat she wore announcing that she was the birthday girl. She got a baby that talks and told me that now she just needs a real refrigerator and some rugs for her bedroom. Then she can have her own little house in her bedroom where she can cook her own meals. She can't wait to grow up!

New Insight...

Bruce's 1st grade class did an experiment on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. The teacher divided the class into two groups and took turns giving one group privilege over the other to help the kids feel what it was like to live as a black person during segregation. Bruce was really touched by the experiment and told me a couple of days later that he realized something. He said, "You know how I like pretty girls?" I said "Yes." He said, "I realized, after we did our experiment, that the thing that makes a girl beautiful is what's on the inside of her heart, not what she looks like on the outside." I told him I was so proud of him for learning that at age seven because there are some grown adults who have never figured that out. It was a very proud, happy, grateful mom moment for me!

Resurrection Day!

Good news! Kimber told me that once you leave the Spirit World and are resurrected you get all new clothes! Shoes are included in that package as well!!!! Troy thinks she has spent too much time with Jenny!
